I am currently a second-year dermatology resident physician at UC San Diego. I completed my undergraduate studies in Psychobiology at UCLA, followed by a MD degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine. During medical school, I spent an additional year to pursue a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research, with a special focus in therapeutics for various dermatologic conditions.

During my first year of dermatology residency, I became intrigued by the technology, innovation, and biomedical application of lasers and other energy devices, and I soon joined ASLMS to learn from world-renowned experts in laser medicine. I became the resident leader of the San Diego ‘Clean Slate” laser tattoo removal program, which provides free laser tattoo removal for ex-gang members trying to assimilate back into society. This experience was presented at the 2017 ASLMS Annual Conference. I have also been actively investigating the therapeutic applications of lasers and dermal cooling devices in the treatment of rosacea and benign pigmented lesions, respectively. I was very honored to speak at the 2018 ASLMS Annual Conference on controlled dermal cooling in the treatment of benign pigmented lesions.

I am incredibly honored to serve as the new ASLMS Resident/Fellow Student Board Representative! I am excited to promote ASLMS for the entire resident community, to help facilitate mentorship opportunities, and to represent the interests of early career professionals to the governing board.

In my spare time, I enjoy writing music for piano and guitar, trying new restaurants, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
