I am currently a 3rd year Bioengineering PhD candidate at UC Riverside under the guidance of Dr. Bahman Anvari. My dissertation research aims at developing erythrocyte-derived particles for phototherapy and near infrared imaging of cancer and port wine stains. Before my doctoral studies, I received my bachelors of science in Physics and Biological Sciences at UC Irvine.
My interest in laser based medicine led me to become a member of ASLMS in 2015. I joined ASLMS because it helps promote research, education, and advancement of laser medicine, which closely aligns with my values and research. I had the opportunity to attend the 37th ASLMS Annual Meeting to present my research, where I also became the Early Career Scientist Representative. I am excited to serve on the ASLMS board of directors to help with endeavors and communicate to my fellow students and faculty opportunities that ASLMS provides.
In addition to my curricular activities, I enjoy playing guitar, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
